Vishnu Ayurveda Medical College was established in the year 2002 on the inspiration and motivation by visionary Dr. P Ramachandran Nair Phd. who is the founder director of the college. The college is recognised by the National commission for Indian system of Medicine under Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India and affiliated to Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur. since then, the college has molded many dedicated and competent medical professionals who are working in Govt. services, private hospitals in India and abroad. Dr.P.Ramachandran Nair had started his medical practice in 1965. Within a short span of time, he became popular as a physician in the vicinities of Kochi the Industrial Capital of Kerala. His lust for clinical practice and sincere quest for delivering the benefits of Ayurveda to needy patients of the society especially the downtrodden people made him wilfully forsake teaching job offered in the Gujarat Ayurveda University. With this vision he returned to Cochin and restarted his practice in 1968-69.

Our proprietor Dr. M. Indiradevi completed her BAMS from Govt. Ayurveda college Tripunithara Ernakulam in 1989. After which a hospital named Vishnu pharmaceuticals and nursing home was started near Shoranur in 1992, Which was further enhanced to Vishnu Ayurveda College in the year 2002, with a vision of fostering an institution which embrace the value of Ayurveda and to epitomize the quality of education in enriching the future generation of Ayurveda doctors.
Our college is facilitated with GMP certified pharmacy within College premises. More than 250 formulations are preparing here in order to provide medicines for OPD &IPD of the college hospital. This tutorial pharmacy ia also equipped with analytical lab to carry out various research activities and to develop newer drugs for the benefit of both students and public.
